Bass Fishing Lures
Depending upon what season of the year you are trying to fish for bass some things may work and others aren’t even worth trying. ForPennsylvania, in the spring season, bass are a very inactive species and catching large mouth bass is very hard if not pushing impossible.
As the weather gets warmer and the water temps rise large mouth bass become more active and in turn become more aggressive resulting in more bites. Small mouth bass are less active as well but still tend to bite more often when using the right bait. Four things I use when fishing for spring bass are:
- 1.Tube worms-blue/white, green/white
- 2.Rubber worms-pink/red/white
- 3.Rubber Crawdads-small/clear, large black/red
- 4.Rubber red eyed shad with mister twister tail
These are the things that have worked for me this year and in previous years. The reason I listed the tube worms first is because they have been my number one bass assassin for many years. They seem to work almost anywhere and in every season.
As the warmer months draw near a variety of other lures/baits start working better. I like using hula poppers, and buzz baits in the hotter months when the bass are really active. However some of the biggest bass can be caught using deep divers, rattletraps, and spinner-baits dependent upon fishing conditions. As the season moves on I will add more things to this list that will help you fill your stringer this bass season. I hope you enjoyed this article because there is more to come!
