Bass Fishing Records
In 2006 the newest world record bass was caught at Dixon lake in California (near Carlsbad), by Mac Weakley, it weighed in at 25 lbs. 1 oz., however, the Bass was caught and weighed with uncertified scales and released before certified scales could be used for verification. Had thiscatch been verified with certified scales it would have trumped the 75 year world record Bass caught in 1932 by 19 year old George Perry. Georgia adopted The bass as it’s official state fish because of this remarkable catch. The new “would have been” world record fish, known as “Dottie” to the locals, was found dead in 2008.
