Where To Find Big Bass

Dependent upon the region of the U.S. you live in big bass may not be as abundant as they are in other places. One great place, if your interested in a distant fishing trip or already live in the area, is South Florida. Southern Florida bass is what big bass fishing should be like everywhere if you ask me. Unfortunately, if your like me and live in the northeastern states specifically (Pennsylvania) it’s a little harder to find Bass of the Florida caliber. That doesn’t mean there aren’t big bass in these areas, it just means your gonna have to look a little harder to find them and work equally as hard at catching them. Two places I seek out is local ponds and lakes in the area. What exactly do I look for? Well, hold on there bubby and I’ll tell ya.. I look for lakes and ponds football field size or smaller, places with large grass beds, stumps, lily’s and so on. Bass thrive in these types of water. Certain lures work better than others and I’ll get into that on another page but with the right techniques bass will bite just about anything you throw at them. My uncle told me once that he caught a bass on nothing but a hook so keep that in mind. One technique I use is to aim for a certain spot, usually around a log or grass bed, and continually cast to the same spot being as accurate as possible with my casts. What this does is draw attention to the spot for one, and often the bass will eventually bite out of pure agression as their inner instincts take over. In lament terms “you just pissed him off by interupting his afternoon nap over and over again and that rubber worm or whatever your using is gonna pay!  This technique has worked time and time again for me. Check out my techniques section where I will thoroughly describe different techniques for getting bass to bite.
